[:es]La Cátedra #UNESCO de Turismo y Desarrollo Económico Sostenible, el #TIDES, y #EmoturLab, con la colaboración del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo, ha lanzado “TOURISM AND WOMEN IN AFRICA”, un curso destinado a mujeres jóvenes de África con estudios universitario, que tiene lugar entre septiembre a noviembre de 2021. El objetivo de este curso es empoderar a las mujeres de África y mejorar sus capacidades para el desarrollo del turismo sostenible. El curso está coordinado por la Fundación Mujeres por África y financiado por la Dirección General de Asuntos Económicos con África del Gobierno de Canarias. Más de una decena de profesores de la #ULPGC, la #ULL y la Universidad de Gotemburgo exponen diferentes temáticas.
El continente africano se caracteriza por la gran diversidad y potencial de recursos naturales vivos, históricos y culturales que posee. Es por ello, que el turismo es una de las industrias con mayor potencial para impulsar las economías locales y la cultura en África. Tras la crisis sanitaria del COVID-19, urgen planes la formación para la transformación del turismo de África, desde una perspectiva económica, ambiental y social, atendiendo también al importante papel que tienen las mujeres en ese sector[:en]The chair #UNESCO Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development, the #TIDES, and #EmoturLab, with the collaboration of the United Nations Development Program, has launched “TOURISM AND WOMEN IN AFRICA”, a course aimed at young women from Africa with university studies, which takes place between September to November 2021. The objective of this course is to empower women in Africa and improve their capacities for the development of sustainable tourism. The course is coordinated by the Women for Africa Foundation and financed by the General Directorate of Economic Affairs with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands. More than a dozen teachers from the #ULPGC, the #ULL and the University of Gothenburg exhibit different themes.
The African continent is characterized by the great diversity and potential of living, historical and cultural natural resources that it possesses. That is why tourism is one of the industries with the greatest potential to boost local economies and culture in Africa.
